The WCW Television Championship represents the early design era of World Championship Wrestling's secondary title lineage. Defended on WCW's Saturday Night programming through much of the 1980s and early 90s, the title was a regular feature of the NWA era that predated the Monday Night Wars. Champions from this era — including Ricky Steamboat, Arn Anderson, and Barry Windham — helped establish the technical in-ring style that WCW built its reputation on.
