Plate material: Brass
What’s the difference?

Brass plates are the standard: cut and engraved to the design, then finished by hand. Brass is dense and hard, so the belt feels solid in the hand. Cast zinc alloy plates are made in a mould cut for your design, then finished by hand. Casting allows deeper 3D relief than engraving, and zinc alloy takes plating well. The extra cost covers the mould and the hand-finishing. Brass or cast zinc alloy plates

Finish: 24K gold plated
What’s the difference?

24K gold electroplating puts a thin layer of real gold on the surface of the plates. The belt is not solid gold. Like any plating, the gold layer can wear if it is rubbed against something abrasive. The standard finish has no gold layer. Gold electroplating explained

Plate thickness: 4 mm
What’s the difference?

This is how thick the metal plates are. 2 mm is included. Each extra millimetre, up to 5 mm, adds the same amount, shown on each choice. Thicker plates allow deeper relief in the design, so details stand out more, and they weigh more. Plate thickness explained

About this design

The WWF Women's Championship was the women's world title of the World Wrestling Federation. This listing is a made-to-order MS Belts replica of the WWF-logo belt, with a gold oval centre plate, red "Women's Champion" lettering and two round side plates on a black strap. The page opens on the build closest to the real belt, and every choice shows its price.

About the WWF Women's Championship

Wikipedia says the title dates its lineage to September 18, 1956, when The Fabulous Moolah became the third NWA World Women's Champion. Moolah sold the title's rights to the WWF in 1984, and it was known as the WWF Women's Championship until 2002.

The title went inactive more than once. As Madusa, Alundra Blayze threw the belt in a trash can on WCW Monday Nitro in 1995. It was reactivated in September 1998 when Jacqueline Moore defeated Sable. Trish Stratus holds the most reigns, with seven, and the title was unified with the Divas Championship in September 2010.

Design details

  • Centre plate: a gold oval with a finely ribbed surface, a jagged black border and a barbed-wire-style rim.
  • Lettering: a small WWF logo and a "World Wrestling Federation" arc above red "Women's Champion" in bold italic capitals.
  • Side plates: two round gold plates, each with a blue and white globe under the WWF logo and the same jagged border.
  • Strap: black leather with a stitched, embossed edge and a block of eyelets at one end.

The real belt and commercial replicas

Wikipedia gives no description, maker or materials for the belt, and we found no shop replica listing with a stated plate thickness or weight, so we quote none. The WWF lettering points to the title's WWF years, but no source lets us name one year range. Our closest build is brass, 24K gold plated, 4 mm, which is what this page shows first.

How we make it

  • Plates: brass cut and engraved to the design as standard, or zinc alloy cast in a mould made for the design (+$100) for deeper 3D relief. Both are finished by hand.
  • Finish: Standard, or 24K gold electroplating (+$20), a thin layer of real gold on the surface of the plates. The belt is not solid gold.
  • Thickness: 2 mm is included, up to 5 mm at +$50 per extra millimetre.
  • Strap: cowhide leather, about 50–51 in (127–130 cm) long, with a snap closure. Other sizes and strap colours can be quoted by email.
  • Made to order: see the delivery estimate on this page.
  • Free worldwide courier shipping with tracking (UPS, FedEx or DHL), with import duties prepaid by us (DDP).
  • Lifetime warranty on plating, hardware and stitching.

Questions

Questions about this belt

Is this the same size as the belt on TV?

No. Ours is a made-to-order replica on a 50–51 in strap, so size and weight differ. Thicker plates and the cast build add weight and relief.

Which years is this belt from?

The plate carries the WWF logo, and Wikipedia says the name WWF Women's Championship ran from 1984 to 2002. It does not describe the belt designs, so we do not name a single year range.

Is this the WWE Women's Championship?

No. Wikipedia says the title became the WWE Women's Championship after the 2002 name change, and a different WWE Women's Championship was created in 2016. Our plates carry the WWF logo and "World Wrestling Federation" lettering.

The three choices, in short

Three choices about the plates decide how the belt looks, how it feels in the hand and what it costs.

  • Plate material

The plates are the metal parts on the front of the belt. Brass plates are the standard: cut and engraved to the design, then finished by hand. Brass is dense and hard, so the belt feels solid. Cast zinc alloy plates are made in a mould and finished by hand, for deeper 3D relief.

Brass plates are included. Cast zinc alloy plates add $100.

  • Finish

24K real-gold electroplating is a thin layer of real gold on the surface of the plates. The belt is not solid gold, and the standard finish has no gold layer.

    24K real-gold electroplating adds $20.

    Gold electroplating explained
  • Plate thickness

Thickness is how thick the metal plates are, in millimetres. 2 mm is included, and you can go up to 5 mm. Thicker plates allow deeper relief in the design and weigh more.

2 mm is included. Each extra millimetre adds $50, up to 5 mm.

How this belt is made

Every belt goes through 7 or 8 phases in our workshop, depending on the build. For a cast belt, casting in a mould takes the place of cutting. Gold electroplating happens only when you choose it or when it is included.

Under normal conditions, most belts are finished in 5–6 working days. For a custom design, the clock starts when you approve the design.

  6. Phase 6: Colour filling

Short answers about this belt, delivery and returns.

All questions and answers

How long does a belt take?

Under normal conditions most belts are made in 5–6 working days, then delivered by courier in up to 5 working days, anywhere in the world. For a custom design, the clock starts when you approve the design. These are estimates, not guarantees.

Is shipping free?

Yes. Every order ships free worldwide by courier (UPS, FedEx or DHL) with tracking.

We prepay import duties (DDP), so there are no customs charges to pay on delivery.

What are the plates made of?

Brass is the standard plate metal. On custom belts the SD build has brass plates cut and engraved to the design, the CNC build has brass plates CNC-machined for finer detail, and the HD build has zinc alloy plates cast in a mould made for the design and finished by hand, for the deepest 3D relief. On catalogue belts, cast zinc alloy is +$100. Plates are 2 mm thick as standard, and 3, 4 or 5 mm add $50 for each extra millimetre. The strap is cowhide leather.

Is 24K gold electroplating real gold?

Yes, it is a thin layer of real 24K gold on the surface of the plates. The belt is not solid gold, and like any plating it can wear if it is rubbed against something abrasive.

Will the belt fit?

The strap is about 50 to 51 inches (127 to 130 cm) long with a snap closure and several snap positions. That is the length of the whole strap, not a waist size. Email us the wearer's measurement and we will confirm the fit before you order.

Can I put my own names or logo on a belt?

Yes. Name plate engraving can be added on belt pages that offer it. For a logo or a fully custom design, use the belt builder or email support@msbelts.com for a quote. Nothing is made until you approve the design.
