Plate material: Zinc alloy (cast)
What’s the difference?

Brass plates are the standard: cut and engraved to the design, then finished by hand. Brass is dense and hard, so the belt feels solid in the hand. Cast zinc alloy plates are made in a mould cut for your design, then finished by hand. Casting allows deeper 3D relief than engraving, and zinc alloy takes plating well. The extra cost covers the mould and the hand-finishing. Brass or cast zinc alloy plates

Finish: 24K gold plated
What’s the difference?

24K gold electroplating puts a thin layer of real gold on the surface of the plates. The belt is not solid gold. Like any plating, the gold layer can wear if it is rubbed against something abrasive. The standard finish has no gold layer. Gold electroplating explained

Plate thickness: 4 mm
What’s the difference?

This is how thick the metal plates are. 2 mm is included. Each extra millimetre, up to 5 mm, adds the same amount, shown on each choice. Thicker plates allow deeper relief in the design, so details stand out more, and they weigh more. Plate thickness explained

About this design

The TNA X Division Championship is the title of TNA's X Division, introduced in 2002. This listing is MS Belts' made-to-order replica of a red-strap design built around a big red X. The page opens on the build closest to the real belt, and every choice shows its price.

About the TNA X Division Championship

Wikipedia says the title was introduced at the 19 June 2002 taping of TNA's second weekly pay-per-view, and A.J. Styles became the first champion by winning a four-way double elimination match. Chris Sabin has the most reigns with 10, and the longest reign is 298 days, shared by Austin Aries and Leon Slater.

The page lists eight belt designs but gives few details. It mentions a 2013 belt with blue accents, recoloured green in 2015, a 2018 redesign with a big blue X, and a custom belt in January 2025 with gold plates on a burnt orange strap. Fightful's report on the belt shown in January 2024 mentions a "signature red X in the middle".

Design details

  • Centre plate: a gold-edged white plate with filigree, a big red X behind the TNA Wrestling logo, black "X-Division" and "Total Nonstop Action" banners above and a black "Champion" ribbon below.
  • Side plates: four, two on each side, each pair a red-gridded globe beside a plate with a red X and the TNA logo.
  • Anthem plate: a small extra plate with an Anthem logo, shown at the end of the right-hand plates in our photos.
  • Strap: deep red leather with a scalloped embossed edge.

The real belt and commercial replicas

Wikipedia names no maker for any X Division belt, and none of its descriptions matches our photos closely enough for us to name a year. Ours has a red X behind the TNA Wrestling logo on a red strap. We found no commercial replica with published specifications. Our closest build is zinc alloy (cast), 24K gold plated, 4 mm, which is what this page shows first.

How we make it

  • Plates: standard brass plates are cut and engraved to the design and finished by hand. Cast zinc alloy (+$100) comes from a mould made for the design, takes plating well and shows deeper relief.
  • Finish: standard or 24K gold plated (+$20). The gold is an electroplated surface layer, so the belt is not solid gold.
  • Thickness: 2 mm included, then +$50 for each extra millimetre up to 5 mm.
  • Strap: cowhide leather, about 50–51 in (127–130 cm), snap closure with several positions. Kids to jumbo sizes and other strap colours are quoted by email.
  • Made to order: see the delivery estimate on this page.
  • Shipping: free worldwide courier (UPS, FedEx or DHL) with tracking. We prepay import duties (DDP).
  • Warranty: lifetime on plating, hardware and stitching.

Questions

Questions about this belt

Which year is this belt?

We could not match it to one year. Sources call the red X the title's signature, but Wikipedia gives few design details. Our photos show the red X, the TNA Wrestling logo and an Anthem plate.

Is this the blue or green accent version?

No. Wikipedia mentions a 2013 belt with blue accents, changed to green in 2015. Ours has red accents on a red strap.

Can you change the strap colour or add my name?

Yes. Strap colours and custom name plates are quoted by email at support@msbelts.com.

Independent replica. MS Belts is not affiliated with, licensed by or endorsed by TNA or any other promotion. Names are used only to describe the design.

The three choices, in short

Three choices about the plates decide how the belt looks, how it feels in the hand and what it costs.

  • Plate material

The plates are the metal parts on the front of the belt. Brass plates are the standard: cut and engraved to the design, then finished by hand. Brass is dense and hard, so the belt feels solid. Cast zinc alloy plates are made in a mould and finished by hand, for deeper 3D relief.

Brass plates are included. Cast zinc alloy plates add $100.

  • Finish

24K real-gold electroplating is a thin layer of real gold on the surface of the plates. The belt is not solid gold, and the standard finish has no gold layer.

    24K real-gold electroplating adds $20.

    Gold electroplating explained
  • Plate thickness

Thickness is how thick the metal plates are, in millimetres. 2 mm is included, and you can go up to 5 mm. Thicker plates allow deeper relief in the design and weigh more.

2 mm is included. Each extra millimetre adds $50, up to 5 mm.

How this belt is made

Every belt goes through 7 or 8 phases in our workshop, depending on the build. For a cast belt, casting in a mould takes the place of cutting. Gold electroplating happens only when you choose it or when it is included.

Under normal conditions, most belts are finished in 5–6 working days. For a custom design, the clock starts when you approve the design.

See how it's made

  1. Phase 1: Design and artwork

  2. Phase 2: Cutting the plates

  3. Phase 3: Engraving and detailing

  4. Phase 4: Polishing

  5. Phase 5: Gold electroplating When 24K gold electroplating is chosen or included

  6. Phase 6: Colour filling

  7. Phase 7: The leather strap

  8. Phase 8: Assembly, final check and packing

Questions before you order

Short answers about this belt, delivery and returns.

All questions and answers

How long does a belt take?

Under normal conditions most belts are made in 5–6 working days, then delivered by courier in up to 5 working days, anywhere in the world. For a custom design, the clock starts when you approve the design. These are estimates, not guarantees.

Is shipping free?

Yes. Every order ships free worldwide by courier (UPS, FedEx or DHL) with tracking.

We prepay import duties (DDP), so there are no customs charges to pay on delivery.

What are the plates made of?

Brass is the standard plate metal. On custom belts the SD build has brass plates cut and engraved to the design, the CNC build has brass plates CNC-machined for finer detail, and the HD build has zinc alloy plates cast in a mould made for the design and finished by hand, for the deepest 3D relief. On catalogue belts, cast zinc alloy is +$100. Plates are 2 mm thick as standard, and 3, 4 or 5 mm add $50 for each extra millimetre. The strap is cowhide leather.

Is 24K gold electroplating real gold?

Yes, it is a thin layer of real 24K gold on the surface of the plates. The belt is not solid gold, and like any plating it can wear if it is rubbed against something abrasive.

Will the belt fit?

The strap is about 50 to 51 inches (127 to 130 cm) long with a snap closure and several snap positions. That is the length of the whole strap, not a waist size. Email us the wearer's measurement and we will confirm the fit before you order.

Can I put my own names or logo on a belt?

Yes. Name plate engraving can be added on belt pages that offer it. For a logo or a fully custom design, use the belt builder or email support@msbelts.com for a quote. Nothing is made until you approve the design.
